This blog is about the witness of faith through the power of the Holy Spirit in the world today. The above photo is of the friars on the Sea of Galilee recording video reflections.Fr. She has survived parental divorce and alcoholism, as well as emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Her testimony includes dark times of physical and sexual violence, teenage pregnancy, years of homelessness, abortion, same sex attraction and two attempts at suicide. In 1997 she met the man she would eventually marry; this man would help her create an environment of authentic love that enabled her healing journey, her relationship with Jesus Christ and her eventual forgiveness and love for her attackers. She converted to Catholicism in 2008. Jess is the Founder and Executive Director of <a href="https://www.sofesa.org/our-mission.html"><b>SOFESA</b></a>, a 501c(3) non-profit ministry that has been accompanying Southern California homeless families since 1999.<br /></p><iframe allow="autoplay" frameborder="no" height="166" scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1773758457&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=false&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true" width="100%"></iframe><div style="color: #cccccc; font-family: Interstate, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Lucida Sans, Garuda, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 100; line-break: anywhere; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap; word-break: normal;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word">Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries/healing-the-epidemic-of-homlessness-guest-jess-echeverry" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Healing the Epidemic of Homlessness (Guest: Jess Echeverry)">Healing the Epidemic of Homlessness (Guest: Jess Echeverry)</a></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986678646573887143.post-79425588396181432702024-03-11T14:40:00.002-05:002024-03-11T14:40:30.981-05:00Providing Clean, Safe Water in Developing Countries (Guest: Jacob Niemeier)<p>Jacob Niemeier is the founder and executive director of <a href="https://veraaquaveravita.org/"><b>Vera Aqua Vera Vita</b></a>, an organization that works to bring life-giving clean water and sanitation solutions to those in need.<br /></p><iframe allow="autoplay" frameborder="no" height="166" scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1771876410&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=false&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true" width="100%"></iframe><div style="color: #cccccc; font-family: Interstate, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Lucida Sans, Garuda, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 100; line-break: anywhere; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap; word-break: normal;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word">Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries/providing-clean-safe-water-in-developing-countries-guest-jacob-niemeier" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Providing Clean, Safe Water in Developing Countries (Guest: Jacob Niemeier)">Providing Clean, Safe Water in Developing Countries (Guest: Jacob Niemeier)</a></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986678646573887143.post-51396857243865190222024-03-05T14:12:00.003-06:002024-03-05T14:12:16.320-06:00Offering Shelter and Christ to the Needy (Guest: Bob Nowak)<p>Bob Nowak joins Fr. (Guest: Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM)<p>Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM, lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life. Raised in a nominally Catholic family, who only lived the externals of the faith, Fr. Ken left the Catholic Church for many years. Focused on money, fitness, and success, he made little room for God; but God did not give up on him. Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism, to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church. Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012.</p><iframe allow="autoplay" frameborder="no" height="166" scrolling="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1557700027&color=%238c847c&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=false&show_user=false&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true" width="100%"></iframe><div style="color: #cccccc; font-family: Interstate, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, Lucida Sans, Garuda, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 100; line-break: anywhere; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; white-space: nowrap; word-break: normal;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word">Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/franciscanmissionaries/why-be-catholic-guest-fr-ken-geraci-cpm" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank" title="Why Be Catholic?
